Dear Amazon and every other hypocritical bookstore:

So, you’re pulling anything even vaguely erotic from sale? You don’t want to sell anything with themes that might mildly push a boundary or two? In the past two days, you’ve removed many an author’s entire body of work from sale?

If you’re going to practice censorship like some sort of evangelical Christian version of North Korea, then I have a few titles you should probably take a second look at. You seem to have forgotten to remove them from sale.

1. Flowers in the Attic

A book most popular with twelve-year-old girls, where a brother and sister fall in love and fornicate to high heaven.

2. Forbidden

A very popular book written for teenagers, where a brother and sister fall in love and have sex.

3. Fifty Shades of Grey

A man who loves abusing women (this is NOT BDSM!) because of all that statutory rape he got into in the past.

4. The Bible

Do you really need an explanation here? Mass rape, incest, murder. Think of anything disturbing and you’ll find it between the covers of this book. And worse, millions use it as a guide for how to behave!

5. Living Dead Girl

A popular young adult book about a girl who is abducted by a paedophile. She is raped repeatedly during the book.

6. Even one of my favourite series – the Original Sinners – has a protagonist who commits statutory rape because her priest tells her to.

But then I guess these titles are making you too much money, aren’t they?

  1. True!
I am really NOT understanding why they are doing this!

  2. Sick. Really. I can’t believe they are doing this. Shared via Twitter.
